This month Fuji TV and TBS both have dramas that will air in the Sunday 9PM timeslot starting on the 16th. Last October, Fuji announced that they were going to air a drama during that timeslot which have started the “Nichi Kyuu Wars” (The Sunday 9PM Wars).

SMAP’s Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (36) and Imai Miki (47) were present at a press event for TBS’ “Fuyu no Sakura.” This will be Imai’s first drama in roughly 11 years. Kusanagi displayed confidence in the drama saying, “It’s a beautiful love story that tugs at your heart.”

In the Fuji drama “School!” Eguchi Yosuke (43) is taking on the role as a civilian principal, Nishijima Hidetoshi (39) will be a teacher, and Kitano Kie (19) will be a part-time lecturer. They were all at the press event in support of the drama. Eguchi enthusiastically said, “I’ll do my best to not tease the kids.”

In regards to the “battle,” Kusanagi gave the best of luck to his competitor Eguchi and the School!! cast. Eguchi had the same well wishes for Kusanagi and team.
