Rurouni Kenshin

In 1868, after the Bakumatsu war ends, ex-assassin Himura Kenshin (Sato Takeru) traverses Japan with an inverted sword, defending the needy without killing.

Legendary assassin Himura Kenshin (Sato Takeru), once revered as Hitokiri Battousai, survived the turbulent Bakumatsu period with a single sword. He now welcomes a new era by leading a peaceful existence, but lurking behind the scenes in Kyoto is anything but tranquil. Shishio Makoto (Fujiwara Tstsuya), the man who took over the title of “Kage no Hitokiri” as Kenshin’s successor is said to be operating in the city’s shadows, but he pays the price once the government fears he knows too much. Burned from head to toe, Shishio returns to exact revenge, gathering arm dealers and warmongers as his personal army, and forcing Kenshin to enter his final battle.

In his attempt to stop Shishio’s (Fujiwara Tatsuya) fight to conquer Japan, Kenshin (Sato Takeru) is swept up by the sea while trying to rescue a kidnapped Kaoru (Takei Emi). Having failed, he washes up ashore where he is discovered by his master, Hiko Seijuro (Fukuyama Masahiro), who he pleads with to instruct him on the ways of a secret technique. Without it, Kenshin may not be able to stop Shishio.

In 1879, Kenshi and his allies face their strongest enemy yet: his former brother-in-law Enishi Yukishiro and his minions, who’ve vowed their revenge.

Before he was a protector, Kenshin was a fearsome assassin known as Battosai. But when he meets the gentle Tomoe Yukishiro, his story begins to change.
